Writing a new PERT summary
To help participants to identify key elements of the assessment that they may need to consider they will be provided with a summary of the key themes identified in the PERTs.
Please read the PERTs from the past few years which have been sent to you on Base Camp and summarise the key repeating themes and challenges from these PERTs as a bullet list.
You may find it useful to provide your summarised list in sub-sections to cover individual papers or as a single list covering the qualification as a whole, according to the needs of your subject. Please see the examples provided as a guide to your approach.
Reviewing an existing PERT summary
If you have been asked to review an existing summary document, please download the summary from Base Camp and read it in conjunction with the new syllabus.
It might be that you need to re-label Components or add/remove information that has changed. Please edit the existing document and return this to us on Base Camp.
Examples from the PERTSelect three common messages from the PERT and find three candidate responses to show what these messages look like in an exam response. You may choose responses from the scripts selected for marking, or responses from different scripts not used in the marking activity but from the same exam series or from the example candidate responses on the School Support Hub.
Please explain what each candidate response exemplifies from the PERT. The document should be between one to three pages of A4. If you are selecting from an essay or particularly long response, please snip the relevant bit of the response to ensure this document remains within the page limit. Please see below for a template.
